Competing parties - about the appointment of the Prime Minister Part 2

Competing parties - about the appointment of the Prime Minister Part 2

“The new government approach is encouraging
(Dr. Seifesellassie Ayalew, Chairperson of the Mother Party)

How do you see the new government including the opposition in the executive branch?
First, we need to make a point. According to the constitution of our country, the party that wins the most seats will form the government. Accordingly, the winning political party has been identified. Our Mother Party, the victorious Prosperity Party, expressed its happiness even in an extraordinary way. Accordingly, the winning party formed a government. This is the government of the victorious prosperity. In the meantime, there is an unprecedented trend. We are seeing that the winning party is including the others and the opposition by its own criteria. This is not uncommon in the past. In light of this, we believe that what is being done now is a breach of the country's political culture. We appreciate the break-up of this culture.
It does not matter if the opposition is included in the executive branch; There are those who say that it would be better for them to enter parliament in large numbers. What do you say?
Of course, one thing was fine. If the electoral system were adjusted, the composition of the House of Representatives would be more balanced, that is, with more candidates. Now, back then, this is not the case. It is better to think about what is best for the country. The current situation is good for me. At least in the absence of competing parties in the election, it is a step in the right direction for me to include other political parties in the government. It's called a good start.
To what extent will the inclusion of dissidents in the executive branch address the controversy?
There are at least three opposition members in the current cabinet to form a divisive government. Although the number is small, we can assume that there will be controversy in the cabinet. In this regard, we think it will create something better for our country and our system of government. On the other hand, the winning party wants to implement its own political program. Therefore, there is no doubt that the candidates in this cabinet are in conflict with their own political agenda.
The important thing is to reconcile these differences and work towards finding a way forward that will benefit the country. This will be the first homework for competing leaders in government. As leaders of a political party, they must learn the art of running a government program without losing their identity. But in general, we can say that it is a good start.
